I don't think anybody could have prepared me for what happened in 2020. This year was a very challenging year but in many aspects it was also filled with positive things. I decided I would make a list of the nice things that happened to me in 2020.
Early this year, before all of the pandemic madness, I got married to my amazing wife. She's just the best and we have a ton of fun together. I am very glad I had such a nice partner to spend lockdowns and isolation with.
I was living in a flat I loved, but staying at home is difficult, especially if you don't have a balcony. My wife found us a very nice flat, not far from my workplace, that has a balcony! Moving is always super stressful for me but we did it and now we have a nice flat that allows us to get some fresh air safely.
I don't want to brag too much about that, but I feel privileged. In times where people were losing their jobs and struggling financially, I was able to keep my job. Not only that, but my employer provided amazing support for working remotely and was super understanding and helpful. I truly am grateful for that.
Even though it was remotely, it was a very nice experience to be able to talk about my work to a wider audience. I hope that I'll get to do a lot more of those in the future. For the curious here is the video.
I got to see a lot more of our bunny since I worked from home most of the year. She's the cutest one, and even though sometimes she hates us, I think we live a nice life together.
I started baking, I made bread for most of the year. I made bagels for breakfasts. I like baking and cooking a lot and this year gave me some time to experiment. I even started raising my own sourdough starter, he's called Henry.
There are probably many other smaller things, but I am generally proud of myself for how I managed to go through this year. I hope that everybody is staying safe and that you all have a nice winter break!
